My dreams are a velvety stretch
Of heaven-born wings—
lustrous fluffy stairs
In distant crescendo.

In my head,
I built a million universes,
A billion billion eggs
Of patented words stowed
On the tongue of the daydream.

The first egg broke
When father died,
It was a shard—
My proud dream.

It cuts deep—
Into my feet,
Into my skin,
My dream.

Now I follow the trails
Of those who went;
Those who went and got lost
Those who went and came back,
Those who went and never returned.
