*Looking for satisfaction by walking away from it

Dreams appeared
In your roving mind
Even before you
Saw your feet

But your feet you saw
Leading you away
From the dream’s music
Beating in your chest

Your feet you saw
In tailored goggles
Of confused cultures
Of promised giggles

So your dreams you traded
Looking for a promise
Of imported heartbeats
Of music just skin-deep

And here you wait
For a beat that once you lost
Searching for a filling
That is not full.
