In its eight-year span, the National Art Competition has showcased emerging talent in such diverse mediums as painting, sculpture, photography, mixed media, installation, and video art.  This year’s theme Future Histories will encourages artists to think laterally about the social, political, and cultural climate of their local communities whilst exploring their terra incognita art practice. On the 27th of July, 12 finalist where announce and they would be going on to the next stage of the competition. The finalist are:
