The 2017 edition of the annual FCT Spelling Bee Competition is almost here. The competition which is in its 5th year and hosted by Decipher Solutions targets young students in Junior Secondary Schools within the FCT to improve the reading culture. The competition is designed to help students in different secondary schools improve their spelling capabilities, increase the range of their vocabulary, boost correct usage of the English Language by encouraging conscious efforts in learning words with a suitable improvement in other aspects of English Language (e.g. Comprehension).

The FCT Spelling Bee is a literacy program that teaches students the effective pronunciation of words, their meaning and proper context of usage in English Language. The competition creates a platform for students from diverse backgrounds across the FCT including public and private schools to engage and compete fairly in order to emerge as winners of the competition.
